††† Over the past 60 years, the average sperm count for men has decreased 40%. There are many reasons given to explain this trend. Below are some of the main influences we find

 

 

††† Since there are so many variables to consider with infertility, it becomes critical to evaluate the situation as thoroughly as possible. Before moving forward with any therapies, a long detailed case history must be taken. It should include the patientís motherís health history, especially around the time of conception and pregnancy. It should include medications, environmental exposures including home, hobbies and job. The patientís history should cover in much detail the following: in-utero, childhood problems, onset of menarche, hormonal problems, use of medications and recreational drugs, psychological profile, metabolic tendencies, state of present and past relationships,

dietary, sleep, play and work habits, sexual history, environmental exposures from neighborhood, home, job and hobbies and dental records. This information offers insight to which variables may be having the strongest influences. Other parameters used in our office are:
