HYPOGLYCEMIA

This is a condition characterized by a drop in blood sugar levels resulting in a wide variety of symptoms. This may include:

Dizziness
Fatigue or lethargy
Mid-afternoon crash
Headaches, jitteriness, mood swings with missed meals
Use of sugars or caffeine for “pick-me-up”

There are numerous contributing factors to hypoglycemia. Some are:

Extended periods without eating
Large amounts of refined carbohydrates in the diet
Coffee, soda and alcohol consumption
High stress
Hypothyroid
Malnutrition
